The first password (the private password) should be kept private by you under all circumstances. It will be used to view your statsandreset your WebTracker.

The second password (the public password) can be used to let your page visitors see your page stats. It cannot be used to reset your WebTracker. If you do not want anyone to be able to view your stats except you, then you should enter a password that cannot be easily guessed. ( We recommend the public password to be the word 'public' to remember it more easily )

Passwords will not be released by FXWeb under any circumstances. Please record your passwords in a safe place. FXWeb is not responsible for lost or stolen passwords.

A few notes regarding password selection:

Try to choose passwords that you will remember easily - it's generally not wise to select an overly 'cryptic' password (These aren't passwords to be used for Fort Knox access). As well, we recommend that you use all lowercase letters in your passwords, to avoid this confusions regarding case.
As well, remember that it is fundamentally unwise to use a password that you are currently using for an internet account, business purposes, or other information more important than WebTracker - if someone were to access your WebTracker password, they could possibly use it to break into an area that you need to keep secure! Keep your WebTracker password unique.
